June 2015 Consultation on updated Masterplan

Background

The Plan for Stafford Borough was adopted in 2014. It identifies a need for 7,200 new homes within the town by 2031. The Plan envisages the creation of new communities with supporting infrastructure such as health centres and schools at key Strategic Development Locations (SDL).

The land North of Stafford is identified as a SDL that will deliver 3,100 dwellings, 36 hectares of employment, education provision and local facilities. Local Plan policy requires that any development within the North of Stafford SDL is consistent with a Masterplan for the whole of the area which will be agreed by the Council, prior to planning applications being submitted.
